Kim Callahan Griggs

Today marks the 1st year of the passing of Brad's Mom. More than twenty years ago Kim was diagnosed with Leukemia. She went through a lot of radiation treatment and had to receive a bone marrow transplant. Kim was actually one of the first people in the US to receive a bone marrow transplant from a non-relative and survive.

She spent the remaining cancer free years of her life raising her family and watching her family grow with in-laws and grandchildren. In the last few years small amounts of cancer began to emerge, this cancer was the aftereffects of all of the Leukemia Radiation treatment

On February 27, 2008, Kim Griggs died from cancer. She made a conscience choice to draw the line in the sand and say no more radiation and no more surgeries. She knew it was her time to be with her Savior. Since the Leukemia, she has always known that she was on borrowed time.

Kim was seriously one of the best women I have ever known. She had such unshakable faith and her love for the church and for Jesus Christ was so strong. I feel blessed having the opportunity to know her in this Earthly life.
